You may well be reading issue 8 of MWM on a beach somewhere, or perhaps by the pool, but don’t be thinking things are quieter in August.
Despite it being the summer hols, the jobs market hasn’t jetted off with those enjoying a well earned break. In fact, YoY, we’ve seen an increase of 80% in live roles.
August has been the month of marketing.
From scaling their existing departments to starting from the ground up with hire #1, most of our recent marketing placements have been from outside the industry (think FS, recruitment).
With the impending changes in April 2026, ensuring your comms and messaging hit the mark with clients and candidates is more important than ever.
Market confidence is at the highest level I’ve seen, across businesses of all sizes and sectors.

Key Account Director: Technology & Payroll Group North London based. Basic up to £60,000. This is a priority hire. After a flurry of successful client migrations, this role is perfect for someone who loves payroll, loves tech and wants to grow accounts, not just win new business. Operations Manager: Award-Winning Software Business South Manchester | £50,000 basic
You’ll own customer service, implementation, and client project delivery. If you know your ERNI from your ENI, this one’s for you. It’s an exciting role with an equally exciting client who’s leading the market. Me and Jade Dunne are arranging interviews for the client on this one.
